What's the difference between a consecutive and flexipass?
A consecutive day pass provides unlimited rail travel on any day or all days for the duration of the pass. For example. If you have a 15 day consecutive pass you have 15 days to complete all your rail travel. Your railpass begins on the first day of use.

A flexipass is valid for a specific number of days within a longer period. For example. If you have a 15 day railpass within a 2 month period, you may choose any 15 days you wish within that two month period. Your railpass begins on the first day of use.

How is a rail day defined?
A rail day is defined as midnight to midnight. You may travel as much as you like within that time.

What is Eurail Pass Insurance?
Pass Insurance protects you if you lose your pass. You will be refunded the unused portion of the pass. Please refer to the Pass Insurance page for more details.

How do I validate my Eurail pass

On your first day of travel, you must take your railpass to the ticket window. From there a train official will enter the first and last days of validity. He will also stamp your pass which will appear on the top right corner.

Is my Eurail pass valid on the Eurostar?

Unfortunately no. However, as a Eurailpass holder, you are eligible for Eurostar passholder fares. See bonuses for details. Europrail International does not offer Eurostar tickets at this time.

How much are child passes?

Child passes are normally half of the adult fare unless otherwise stated. Child age requirements may differ by pass. Please read the notes on the pass page for details.

Are there senior discounts?

Not every pass has a senior rate. But those that do are usually discounted by 15% from the adult fare. In most cases seniors must be 60+ to qualify.

When does my Eurail Pass start?

Your railpass begins when you get it validated on your first day of rail travel.

Will I need a reservation?

Most trains in Europe do not require a reservation. However, certain hight speed trains such as the ICE in Germany or the Thalys train do require a reservation.

What is the 7pm rule?

If you are traveling on an overnight train and you board after 7:00pm, when you arrive at your destination you will only have used up one day of travel on your pass rather than two. Travel that takes place between 7pm and midnight is not counted. You mark the day of arrival at your destination on your rail pass. If you travel on an overnight ferry, you may mark either the day of arrival or the day of departure on your pass.

What is the difference between first and second class?

First Class has larger seats, more space both for you and your baggage. Most first class trains will have a bar and resteraunt car. While 2nd class is general seating with a luggage rack above. A trolly car which travels up and down the aisle is available with a selected menu such as sandwhiches and soft drinks etc.

Are sleeper compartments included with my Eurail Pass?
